Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers’ Robbie Lightowler finished second in his age category in the World Aquathlon Championships.
In the 16 year old’s toughest event to date, the Year 12 pupil competed against boys who were three years his senior, making his achievement all the more remarkable.
The Aquathlon began with a 1000m swim in the Serpentine followed by a five-kilometre run. On the run section of the course, Lightowler pushed through to finish second and fourth overall.
At the British Masters Championships, there were double gold medal winning performances from two Harriers athletes.
