Potters Bar cyclist Joseph Fry and RST Racing teammate Joey Walker were crowned national champions at the Under-16 Boys National Madison Championship.
The competition, which was held at the Manchester Velodrome, started with qualifying rounds held over 40 laps with the top five teams going through from each heat.
There were no problems for the duo as they moved into the evening final with little fuss.
The final was contested over 80 laps (20 km) with four sprints every 20 laps. Fry and Walker scored two points from the first sprint and then attacked the main group.
They took maximum points from the next sprint and over the next 20 laps the duo attacked, bridged the gap to the leader and went past to take maximum points on the third sprint.
The partnership held this advantage to the finish and secured the championship gold medals taking maximum points at the final sprint.
