Barnet Elizabethans are up to third in Hertfordshire/Middlesex League One after defeating Rhinos

Barnet Elizabethans sit third in Hertfordshire/Middlesex League One after completing a 13-8 win at Haringey Rhinos.
Elizabethans started the contest on the front foot but were not able to turn possession into points.
Despite strong runs from the backs, Barnet could not get the second phase moving and there was poor ball distribution.
However, they did lead at the interval thanks to two converted penalties from Charlie Mays.
Elizabethans had Kieran Porter sin-binned in the second half but it seemed to spur the visitors on and they ran in a try as Robert Cameron-Staff went over and Mays kicked the conversion.
Instead of pressing on, Barnet conceded another penalty which was kicked. The hosts’ right winger then made a breakaway run and touched down to reduce the lead to just five points but this was to be the final score.
