Keanu Marsh-Brown signed a new long-term contract with Barnet on Friday and Bees assistant coach Ulrich Landvreugd believes the winger is “excellent value for the team”.

The 21-year-old netted for Barnet in their 2-1 FA Trophy defeat against Grimsby Town on Saturday which took his tally for the season to ten goals in 22 games.

Marsh-Brown is the Bees’ top scorer and has been their main attacking threat in the absence of injured strikers Jake Hyde and Dani Lopez. Landvreugd says Marsh-Brown has earned his new deal and believes the winger is improving every month.

He continued: “He is still not finished but he is a winger that scores a lot of goals.

“Attacking wise he is very dangerous and is excellent value for the team. He showed that again (against Grimsby) with his goal and all he has to do now is be more consistent.”

Landvreugd added: “You don’t know how he can grow but he has potential and that is why we have signed him on a longer contract.” Marsh-Brown, who began his career at Fulham before spells with Oldham Athletic and Yeovil Town, says Barnet have shown faith in him since he joined the club last March.

He hopes to repay the Bees by helping them back into the Football League and he told the club website: “The management staff told me that my future at the club was one of their main priorities and that means a lot. I’m top goal scorer at the moment but I will keep working hard and aim to become an ever better player for Barnet.

“The club have moved into a fantastic new stadium and the squad we have is superb considering we’re in the Conference. I’m also confident the coaching staff will add even stronger players to the squad in January and we can make a big push for the top in the second half of the season.”

He added: “I would also like to thank all of the Barnet supporters for their continued support because ever since I joined they have been fantastic.”
