Barnet Elizabethans moved into second in Herts/Middlesex League One after an 18-5 win over Verulamians on Saturday.

Chris Blomiley went over the line early on but was unable to hold on to the ball.

Blomiley soon made up for his earlier error however, as he touched down for the only score in the first half to give Elizabethans the lead.

Shortly after the interval, Barnet doubled their advantage as strong work by the forwards allowed Robbie Cameron-Staff to score out wide.

Verulamians reduced the gap to 10-5 with a try of their own but Cameron-Staff extended the lead with a penalty and it was his pass that set up James Oram to score the final try late on.
