Hendon made it back-to-back wins in Herts/Middlesex League Two after claiming a 10-0 victory at home to Uxbridge.
Hendon were on the back foot in the opening quarter and were lucky not to be behind as Uxbridge missed two penalties.
Handling mistakes were made by both teams in the muddy conditions but Uxbridge kept up the downhill pressure.
They were unable to finish however and were not in sight of the Hendon try line with bold defending by full back Tom Mathias and flanker Mark Ivers.
Hendon showed some attacking intent in the closing stages of the half and captain Gerry O’Donoghue and Gerry O’Donoghue moved forward only for the slippery ball to be dropped the chance was wasted.
The hosts played downhill in the second period but Dave Connell picked up an injury which gave Uxbridge the advantage in the set pieces.
However, Hendon went ahead as Mike Bevan-Jones kicked over a penalty. Paul Geraghty then broke through and offloaded to Judah Simpson whose pace saw him sprint clear of the defence and go over.
Bevan-Jones added the extras to seal victory for the home side who face second placed Feltham on January 25.
