If London Broncos were under any illusions as to the size of their task in the 2014 Super League, Widnes soon dispelled after an 11-try 64-10 victory.

Broncos, who are based at Barnet FC’s The Hive, made a positive start to the contest and opened up an early lead as Mason Caton-Brown scored a try from their first attack, Tony Gigot converted.

Widnes drew level in the twelfth minute as Paddy Flynn created a chance for Kevin Brown who sent Jack Owens over.

Tickle added the conversion and then touched down and converted to put his side in front for the first time.

From that point Widnes took control of the match. Brown went over and that was followed by a try from Stefan Marsh.

Tickle converted both and then added the extras to Brown's second try of the contest.

The Vikings went into the interval with a 30-6 lead. They continued to add to that score from the restart. Paddy Flynn went over but Tickle missed the goal for the first time in the match.

Dean added Widnes’ seventh try and Mellor and Tickle further extended the advantage to 46-6.

Brown went on to complete his hat-trick before Broncos grabbed a consolation try through Caton-Brown.

Marsh replied for the hosts and Dean grabbed his second try withTickle adding the extras to round off the victory.
