Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers’ Richard Goodman returned to winning ways on Saturday as he clinched a gold medal at the Inter Counties Championships.
The Under-23 athlete crossed the line in 33.54 in the senior men’s race which was nine seconds ahead of second-placed competitor Steve Vernon, the only man to have beaten Goodman this year.
Other notable displays at the event came from Under-17 athletes Sophia Parvizi-Wayne, who was ninth in 19.54, while Greg Cooke (19.19) was 25th and Amy Campbell (29.44) was 21st in the senior women’s race.
Meanwhile, Lisa Webb sealed a silver medal in the 1500m at the British Masters Indoor Championships. Webb (V45) crossed the line in 5.09.52 to secure second place.
