Barnet Elizabethans were beaten 26-13 at Kilburn Cosmos on Saturday, but left Cricklewood feeling hard done by.

The Elizabethans scored early in the first half, Glyn Bayley with a penalty and Peter Moulton with a try, before Kilburn replied with two tries of their own - one coverted - before the break.

Trailing 12-8 at half-time, Elizabethans' captain Moulton burst through the hosts' defence and appeared to score, only to be denied by the referee who felt he was short of the line.

Kilburn took full advantage of a quick 22 drop-out, scoring a converted try just seconds after nearly falling behind.

A minute later, Kilburn scored again through the same player, kicking deep before chasing down his own kick to score another converted try.

Barnet were denied what they felt was a legitimate try once more when Alastair MacFarlane felt he'd crossed the line, the referee again unsighted, much to the Elizabethans' dismay.

Ricky Stevens scored a consolation try for the Elizabethans late on, but the hosts were never threatened.

The Elizabethan's Under-17's won their Divisional Group in the Herts Middlesex Saracens League on Sunday when they beat Watford 45-7. The Under-16's beat Welwyn 24-12 to finish second in their league.
