Finchley Cricket Club’s Frahan Butt took five wickets as they beat Hornsey by 25 runs in the Middlesex County Cricket League Premier Division on Saturday.

Jake Milton made 45 runs from 68 balls and at number four, Francois Haasbroek, contributed and unbeaten knock of 40 as visitors Finchley were removed for 189.

Although Butt took three early wickets for his Finchley side, Hornsey were on the front foot when Adam Rossington’s half century left his side need 38 runs for victory.

But tight bowling from the visitors saw them wrap up the game – removing the remaining wickets to dismiss their opponents for 164.

Mukesh Bhatt was the hero for Stanmore, taking eight wickets in a 59-run home with over Teddington.

Stevie Eskinazi put together the best innings of the day with a knock of 61 but was eventually bowled out by Sam Agarwal.

Tim Percival (30) and Kush Patel (36) helped Stanmore reach a total of 204 all out.

Bhatt established himself as the hero for the home side with a superb bowling display which saw him take eight wickets and stifle Teddington’s batsmen for a total of 145 runs.

In the Saracens Hertfordshire Premier Division, Potters Bar fell to a 147-run defeat as Kabir Toor smashed a century for Radlett.

Radlett chose to bat first and an impressive 109 from Toor contributed to a fine total of 303 for nine.

Paul McGhee took five for 57 for visitors Potters but the away side were always facing an uphill struggle.

Rahul Panta (47) started well but significant scores were few and far between, with Chris Swainland’s 37 the only other sizeable total.

Robbie Crocker took six wickets to dismiss Potters Bar for 156.

A century from George Thurstance eased Old Finchleians to an 88-run win away to Flitwick in the Championship.

Thurstance smashed his way to 134 from 127 balls – including 16 fours and three sixes – whilst partner, Tom Underwood (70) carried the visitors to 276 for four.

The hosts were removed with 188 – with Thurstance at the fore once more, finishing with five for 26.

Meanwhile in the Championship, Totteridge Millhillians lost at Chorleywood by 29 runs.

The hosts scored 235 all out, with Totteridge only able to reach 206 in reply.

Old Elizabethans slumped to defeat in their Division Three clash against Totteridge Millhillians Seconds – losing out by just two runs.

Two early wickets left the home side on 12 for two and they failed to find any fluency in their innings, mustering just 184 for seven.

Debutant bowlers Alex Herbert and Brad Richardson made a bright start for Old Elizabethans but Totteridge eventually coasted to their target despite losing three late wickets.

Mill Hill Village consolidated their lead at the top of Division Seven after easing past Southgate Adelaide Seconds by eight wickets Having removed their hosts for 109, Mill Hill then strolled home with 112 for two.
