Barnet continue to rack up victories in the Conference. It’s now seven wins from eight matches after the Bees defeated Dover Athletic 3-0 in front of the BT Sport cameras.

First half goals from Luisma Villa and Luke Gambin put Martin Allen’s side in control at the break and they eased through the second period.

A third was added as Gambin completed his brace with a volley. It was enough for the Bees to overcome the Whites and return to the top of the fledging Conference league table.

After Saturday’s laboured 2-1 win over Alferton Town, there were two changes to the Barnet side. Villa and Johnson came into the team in place of Gambin and the injured Jack Saville.

There was no place for Keanu Marsh-Brown in the Bees squad.

Allen’s side controlled the opening ten minutes of the contest. The Bees kept possession well and Villa drilled a 25-yard shot narrowly wide of Mitch Walker’s right hand post.

The first real chance of the half went to the hosts. The ball broke to Richard Orlu and his clever pass put Stefan Payne through on goal.

Bees stopper Graham Stack was off his line quickly and produced a fine stop to deny the striker.

Three minutes later, Barnet went in front. Johnson moved forward with the ball and whipped a fantastic cross into the area. The ball was met by Villa and he directed his header into the bottom corner.

Dover looked to hit back. Former Bee Nicky Deverdics dragged a shot wide before Stack blocked a close rang effort from Tyrone Sterling.

But the Bees continued to carve out opportunities. Villa had a volley superbly stopped by Walker before the powerful John Akinde headed over from six yards.

The partnership of Akinde and Charlie McDonald has been a fruitful one this season and the duo combined for Barnet’s next chance.

Akinde headed down and McDonald raced onto the ball. However, Walker was quickly off his line, saved the shot and clattered into the striker.

It forced McDonald off. His replacement was Gambin and the winger made an instant impact as he doubled the visitors’ lead.

The architect was Lee Cook. He tricked his way past a couple of challenges before his low delivery across the goalmouth was touched in by Gambin.

It put the Bees in control at the interval. Dover began the second period brightly and looked to put the Barnet defence under pressure but few chances were created and Stack was largely untested.

The Whites’ faded as an attacking threat and the Bees asserted their control as the half progressed. Just past the hour mark, Barnet added a third.

After a spell of possession, Johnson was freed down the left and his cross was met by Gambin whose volley beat Walker.

In truth, Dover were beaten from that point and the Bees coasted through the final half an hour.

Gambin had a shot deflected over the crossbar and substitute Sam Muggleton forced Walker into a low stop.

Dover attempted to grab a consolation goal and Stack remained untested until the final minutes.

Ricky Miller’s free kick rattled the crossbar before Christian Nanetti’s curled strike did the same. However, Barnet are still yet to concede away from home in the Conference this season.

It was ultimately a comfortably night’s work for the Bees. They’re back on top and are looking like the promotion challengers they hope to be.

On Saturday, Allen and his men travel to Telford looking to continue their excellent start to the campaign.
