Barnet will look to return to winning ways when they host Wrexham at The Hive on Tuesday evening.

Defeat for Halifax against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday meant the Bees were able to cling onto top spot, as Woking – the only unbeaten side in the Conference – leapt into second place.

A last-gasp equaliser from Mike Phenix denied the Bees all three points at AFC Telford United, after goals from Lee Cook and Elliot Johnson had turned the game in Barnet's favour to lead 2-1 at the New Bucks Head.

Prior to Saturday’s draw, Barnet had won five consecutive matches – a run which meant they had the third-best form in the whole of Europe.

Head coach Martin Allen was forced into one change on Saturday, with skipper Charlie MacDonald still missing after suffering a knee injury in the 3-0 defeat of Dover Athletic last Wednesday.

Luke Gambin – who scored at The Crabble – started in the forward’s place after excelling in Kent and is one of the candidates to partner John Akinde up front once more.

Young strikers Iffy Allen and Jamal Lowe are both available to Martin Allen too.

The extent of MacDonald’s injury is still unknown – despite undergoing a scan last Friday – with Allen refusing to confirm the availability of any of his players ahead of the Dragons’ visit.

Mauro Vilhete also missed Saturday’s clash due to injury, whilst Keanu Marsh-Brown was once again left out.

Wrexham will be without Mark Carrington, who is serving the second game of a three-match ban following his sending off in the 1-0 defeat by Bristol Rovers.

Jay Harris also misses out with a stomach problem, whilst captain Dean Keates – who is yet to play this season – will also be absent thanks to an Achilles issue.

Up front top-scorer Louis Moult, who has scored five in nine matches, is a doubt after picking up a slight hamstring strain in the Dragons’ 2-1 defeat of Welling United on Saturday.

The Welsh outfit were fortunate to overcome Welling on Saturday and will be relishing another away trip after picking up nine points from a possible 12 away from the Racecourse Ground.

Under the guidance of former Nuneaton Town boss Kevin Wilkin, Wrexham have made a solid start to the new campaign and sit seventh – two places and as many points outside of the play-offs.

Late goals from Moult and Joe Clarke secured a 2-1 home win over Welling United at the Racecourse Ground on Tuesday – just the Dragons’ second home win of the season.
