Wingate & Finchley remain seventh in the Ryman Premier despite claiming just one point from their two games this week.

The Blues conceded a late equaliser to draw 1-1 with Peacehaven and Telscombe on Tuesday night.

David Knight had fired Wingate in front but they couldn’t hold on and Tom Burton’s 89th minute tap-in earned the visitors a share of the points.

There was further disappointment on Saturday as the Blues lost 3-2 against Bognor Regis Town.

Knight and Tommy Tejan-Sie were on target for Wingate but their goals proved nothing more than consolations as a Ben Johnson brace and a Jason Prior goal earned Bognor victory.

Wingate welcome Canvey Island to the Harry Abrahams Stadium on Saturday.

Edgware Town’s miserable form in Spartan South Midlands Division One continued after they were beaten 3-0 by Arlesey Town Reserves on Saturday.

Town, who faced London Lions last night (Wednesday), host Bush Hill Rangers on Saturday.
