Barnet Elizabethans' luck was out as they surrended the lead to lose 13-5 to Kilburn Cosmos in the Herts/Middlesex League One on Saturday.

Despite dominating against the league leaders, the Elizabethans came away with nothing to show from their endeavours having led until the second half.

The Elizabethans drew first when after 15 minutes when Harry Avent crossed the line. The hosts had already come close on several occasions without crossing the line and despite seeing a lot of the ball, were unable to turn possession into points.

A penalty from the Cosmos brought the visitors to within three points before a converted try 15 minutes from time put the high-flying Cosmos ahead for the first time in the afternoon.

The killer blow came shortly after as Kilburn won and kicked a weak penalty to make sure of the points.

Next up for the Elizabethans is a trip to London Nigerians on Saturday, December 6.

In the London Three North West, Finchley were beaten 27-15 by Hackney, leaving them second bottom to Old Streetonians.
