Wingate & Finchley blew a 3-1 half-time lead to lose 4-3 against East Thurrock United on Saturday.

The Blues scored when Ola Sogbanmu headed home Marc Weatherstone’s floated cross to open the scoring after 12 minutes.

Ten minutes later the visitors were level as David Bryant nodded in to make it 1-1.

Chances continued to flow freely and nine minutes before the break, David Knight converted a penalty after he was fouled in the 18-yard box.

Knight grabbed a second, collecting Ritchie Graham’s pass and ghosting beyond a defender before curling home.

Reece Harris halved the deficit after the break with a shot from the edge of the area, and with 16 minutes remaining, Lewis Smith tapped home from Tom Stephens’ delivery.

And with just two minutes left on the clock, James Kaloczi’s foul on Smith allowed Sam Higgins to win the game from 12 yards.

Wingate & Finchley were beaten 2-1 by Kingstonian on Tuesday, with Ahmet Rifat briefly equalising between Pico Gomez’s double.

The Blues host Grays on Saturday.

Edgware Town defeated Winslow 6-1 to claim their third win in a row.

B Butt scored four while Adem Ali and Jay Molloy were also on target.
