Saracens' Billy Vunipola scored the first of England's six tries as the Red Rose won their second Six Nations fixture 47-17 against tournament outsiders Italy at Twickenham.

Vunipola and George Kruis started for England, with Sarries team-mates Richard Wigglesworth and Mako Vunipola both featuring as replacements.

Italy stunned Twickenham as early as the third minute when captain Sergio Parisse went over to open the scoring.

England, who struggled for fluency, got on the scoresheet when George Ford kicked the first of three penalties.

Number eight Vunipola then drove over in the corner to put England in front, 8-5.

Jonathan Joseph, who scored on his debut against Wales, repeated the trick against Italy by scoring England's second try after Chris Robshaw stole possession.

But Italy refused to roll over for Stuart Lancaster's side and Luca Morisi scored a second try for the visitors after darting between Dave Attwood and Joe Marler.

Ben Youngs went over from a tap penalty and Ford converted to extend England's lead once more. And by the time Joseph crossed the whitewash for the second time, the Red Rose were in total control.

Replacement Danny Cipriani wasted no time in scoring England's fifth try, whilst Nick Easter also got in on the act to become England's oldest try scorer at 36.

Italy completed the scoring by running in their third try, Morisi again breaching the English defence.

The win is England's 21st from 21 meetings with Azzurri and leaves Lancaster's side top of the Six Nations table with two wins from two.

Points difference separate England and Ireland ahead of their meeting on March 1, England's next fixture.
