Hendon beat Saracens Amateurs 15-0 in a in the Herts-Middlesex League Two on Saturday as they continued their push for promotion.

Tries from Ger O’Donoghue and Dave Cornell proved the difference, whilst Cian Hines added six points from the boot.

After a scoreless first half Hendon finally produced the first points of the game when O’Donoghue went over straight from the restart after a smart break from Lee Linale had created an opening.

Hines then found his kicking boots, converting a close-range penalty to make it 8-0.

From this point on Hendon were in control and completed the scoring when Connell broke of a powerful rolling maul to touch down before Hines added the extras.

Hendon now face a London French side on Saturday who narrowly beat them at Copthall earlier in the season.

In the Herts-Middlesex League One, Barnet Elizabethans’ perfect start to 2015 came to an end as they were beaten 16-5 at Cheshunt.

The Elizabethans struggled to contain Chesunt in the second half but did get on the scoresheet when Miguel Gomez was driven over the try line. A third penalty from Cheshunt eased the hosts home.

Barnet welcome London Welsh Amateurs to Byng Road next Saturday.
