Hendon are just seven points behind leaders Maidstone United with a game in hand in the Isthmian Premier Division after extending their unbeaten league run to nine matches.
A 2-0 win at Billericay Town on Saturday prolonged the Greens' fine run and means they are breathing down the necks of the Stones, who could only draw at Leatherhead.
All eyes will be on Gary McCann's side when they host Maidstone United on Saturday, April 4 for what could be a title showdown at Earlsmead.
Speaking to the club website, McCann said of the victory: "It was one of our best performances of the season.
"Even with our run of games, most people expected we would have beaten Canvey Island on Wednesday, but they thought it would be different at Billericay, who have one of the best home records in the league."
He continued: "I said this to the players when we talked before the game and I could not have been happier with them in the way that we played in the first 10 to 15 minutes. We played with control and energy and we could have been well ahead in that time.
"In previous years when we have had a run of games in a few days, we tended to make a number of changes to keep everyone fresh. This time we have just tinkered with a few players and the response has been fantastic."
Goals from Kezie Ibe and a peach from Andre da Costa - his second stunner in three games - sealed the win in Kent.
The Greens play their first official fixture at Silver Jubilee Park on Thursday when they host Corinthian Casuals in the London Senior Cup quarter-finals.
Hendon host Leatherhead on Saturday before AFC Hornchurch visit Earlsmead on Monday.
