Saracens' Owen Farrell has become the fourt players to sign a new contract with the Men in Black, inking a new 'multi-year' deal to remain at Allianz Park.

The England and British & Irish Lions fly-half will remain at the club that he has called 'home' since the age of 14, after he put pen-to-paper on a new deal.

The 23-year old outside half has made 109 appearances for Allianz Park club since making his debut in the Anglo-Welsh cup in 2008.

Speaking about committing his future to Saracens, Farrell said: "I'm chuffed (to have signed). I've loved every minute that I've had at Saracens, and how we've been going over the last few years - hopefully we can continue to get better and better.

"I owe a lot to this club, in terms of how I've improved as a player and how I've done in my career. Hopefully I've given as much to the club in return. I'm delighted that I'll be been able to extend my deal here and I'm really looking forward to rip into the rest of the season and the years ahead.”

Farrell graduated from the Saracens Academy in 2008 alongside Will Fraser, Jamie George, George Kruis and Jackson Wray and follows in the footsteps of fellow academy graduates Kruis and Maro Itoje in committing his future to the club.

"I've come through alongside some great people,” said Farrell. "Guys who have worked really, really hard together, so for us to have come through now and hopefully play an important part in this group is extra special.

"You don't have to ask any of us who have come through the academy system what it means to pull on the Saracens shirt. I'd like to get as many caps as I can for this club, it's a brilliant place with brilliant people, and we're constantly improving. I can't seeing anybody wanting to leave that.”

Director of rugby, Mark McCall added: "Owen is one of the leading players in Europe, if not the world, so for him to commit his long-term future to the club is fantastic news.

"He is another player who has progressed through the ranks at Saracens to become a key player for club and country. He is a Saracen through and through, and his hunger and drive to keep on improving is exceptional. The whole club is looking forward to seeing him at Allianz Park over the coming years.”

Attention for Farrell and Saracens now moves onto Northampton Saints this Saturday: "I'm excited for Saturday. It was great to be back out on the field last weekend, albeit not in the best circumstances, but it was great to be back out with the team and to be running around again.

"It's been pretty tough watching the lads do really well and not be a part of it as much as I may have liked - but that's rugby. I'm happy to be back out there training and playing and hopefully I can do my bit to help the team kick-on.

"We are focussing everything on the Northampton game this weekend. We're going to make sure there's no stone left unturned and make sure we're prepared to go out there and put in a big performance.”

"That's what going to help me going forward – you get your confidence from your performances, so all I can focus on is when I get the chance, is performing to the best of my ability. Preparation for that is pretty simple – it's concentrating on what's in front of you."
