Wingate & Finchley have celebrated a record-breaking season with their end-of-season awards, where Rob Laney was crowned the Fans’ Player of the Year.

The Blues’ 12th-place finish in the Isthmian Premier Division was achieved with 67 points – the club’s highest tally in the division.

And the future of the club is bright too, with the Under-18s reaching their first County Cup Final, providing cause of optimism going forward.

David Knight, who hit 29 league goals in his first season since joining from Northwood, scooped the Manager’s Player of the Year award.

Mark Goodman won the Young Player of the Year and Tommy Tejan-Sie was the Players’ Player of the Year.

Testimonials were also announced for head coach Danny Nielsen and player Ahmed Rifat after giving 14 and ten years of service respectively.
