Saracens have begun their recruitment for next season by agreeing a deal to bring Exeter Chiefs’ Joel Conlon to Allianz Park from next season.

The back row played alongside Sarries’ Maro Itoje as England won the Junior World Championship last summer but has yet to appear in the Premiership for the Chiefs.

He was also part of the Exeter Chiefs side beaten by the Wolf Pack in the LV=Cup Final at Franklin's Gardens earlier this season.

Conlon, 21, will joins Saracens Academy later this summer. He will link up with England Under-20 team-mates Biyi Alo, Nathan Earle, Aaron Morris, Henry Taylor, Hayden Thompson-Stringer and Nick Tompkins at the club’s senior Academy.

He has made nine appearances for the Devonshire side and has also appeared for Championship side Cornish Pirates during his time at Sandy Park.

Speaking following his move to north London, Conlon told the club website: "‘I’m really excited to be moving to Saracens next season. They’re a club with a lot of ambition and I can’t wait to get started there."

Saracens Academy manager, Don Barrell added: "Joel is coming in to be part of our senior academy group who we expect to progress at a good rate into the senior set-up. We’re very excited to have him on board.

"We’re really happy to get him. He’s a hugely talented prospect and I think he has proven that in the games he’s played for Exeter. He had a fantastic Junior World Championship campaign for England last summer and we think he’s a back rower with a huge amount of potential."
