Hendon have announced they will name the main stand at their new home, Silver Jubilee Park, after long-serving manager Gary McCann.

The former goalkeeper, who joined the Greens in March 1997 as a player, has been in charge of the club for ten years this season.

And having steered the club through choppy water, the taxi driver has overseen two cup wins this season - the Isthmian League Cup and the London Senior Cup - and also guided Hendon to the Isthmian Premier Division Play-Off Final.

  • Meanwhile, defender Charlie Goode has been called into the England 'C' side to face the Republic of Ireland Under-21s on June 1.

The centre-back's terrific form for Hendon has not gone unnoticed by England boss Paul Fairclough and Goode will now hope to be involved when the Three Lions face Ireland's Under-21s.

Full England 'C' squad: Calum Kitscha (Hayes & Yeading United), Andrew Coughlin & Louis Moult (Wrexham), Simeon Akinola (Braintree Town), James Bolton & Matthew Pearson (FC Halifax Town), Ben Heneghan & Kingsley James (Chester), Sean Raggett (Dover Athletic), Alex Woodyard (Concord Rangers), Jake Gallagher (Welling United), Charlie Goode (Hendon), Callum Chettle (Ilkeston), Aaron Williams (Rushall Olympic), Jarrett Rivers (Blyth Spartans).
