Striker George Sykes has signed for Conference South side Dartford with his Barnet contract set to expire at the end of the month.

The 20-year-old spent time on loan at Canvey Island and Bishop's Stortford last season and was made available for transfer in January.

Sykes, who made his Bees debut against Bristol Rovers in August 2012, made a total of nine appearances for Barnet, scoring once.

After one goal in 14 appearances on loan at Conference South side Bishop's Stortford last term, the Buckhurst Hill-born forward netted eight time in 19 outings for the Gulls.

Speaking to Dartford's website, boss Tony Burman said: “George is a striker who I have watched over the last couple of years.

"I feel that he has a lot of potential and I am sure that we can bring that out in him, in the forthcoming season. He has a great attitude for a young lad and I feel that he will be another good addition to the squad."
