London Broncos grabbed their third Championship win in a row as they smashed bottom-of-the-league Doncaster 30-4 on Sunday, thanks to a hat-trick from Ben Hellewell.

Doncaster continued their terrible run of losing every game this season, with Liam Welham grabbing consolation points for the hosts.

Despite a decent start from the home side, London took the lead with Hellewell crossing. Ilies Macani went close before the Broncos switched the play to the other side and Hellewell got his side off to a good start.

Welham replied on 16 minutes, but London would then score four converted tries without reply.

The sides looked to be going into the break level but with three minutes of the first period remaining, Elliot Minchella crossed after taking Oscar Thomas’ pass. Wes Naiqama successfully converted.

Naiqama kicked a penalty to further add to Doncaster’s misery before Hellewell was again on the scoreboard for the Broncos. He chased up Matt Garside’s grubber to give London an 18-4 lead following the conversion.

Three minutes later there was more joy for the visitors as Rhys Williams raced from his own try line to score under the sticks and Hellewell added his hat-trick a few short moments later.

Naiqama rounded off both to give the Broncos a solid 30-4 victory away from home, albeit against a Doncaster side who have struggled to cope all season.
