Hendon’s Elliot Brathwaite has been named in the Isthmian Premier Division Team of the Year after his side just missed out on promotion.

The centre-back was a key player at Earlsmead last season as the league runners-up finished just three points behind eventual winners Maidstone United.

Making 58 appearances overall, former Wycombe Wanderers defender Brathwaite also grabbed four goals during an impressive season.

Midfielder Tom Pett was also bizarrely included in the team, despite spending all of last season playing for League Two side Stevenage.

The 23-year-old spent the 2013/14 campaign in the Ryman Premier, scoring 16 goals for Wealdstone, but made the switch to Broadhall Way ahead of last season.

The rest of the team was made up by mostly league-winning Maidstone players, with places for Lee Worgon (goalkeeper), Steve Watt, Tom Mills (both defenders), Matt Bodkin, Alex Flisher (both midfielders) and Jay May (striker).

Enfield Town top-scorer Corey Whiteley was included, while Metropolitan Police’s full-back William Salmon and East Thurrock United’s striker Sean Higgins also featured.

Maidstone boss Jay Saunders was named the league’s Manager of the Season.
