Sam Littleford won three tournaments as youngsters ruled the roost at this year’s Barnet Lawn Tennis Club’s annual Summer Championships.

The 20-year-old won the mens’ Singles A event while 21-year-old Nicky Fenn took the ladies’ Singles title.

Littleford, who had been runner-up in previous years, had a comfortable win over club captain Aran Mustafa winning  6–2, 6–1.

It was a good day for Littleford, of East Barnet, as he enjoyed triple success by winning the mens’ Doubles with Greg Kraushar and then the Mixed Doubles title with his mum Sue.

Littleford, who is studying Sport and Exercise Science at Sheffield Hallam University, has worked also as a coach at Barnet Tennis Club.

In the ladies’ Singles A event Oakwood-based Fenn secured her third Singles title at the Gloucester Road club, having won both the Summer and Autumn titles in 2014. She beat Tina Bloch 6–3, 5–7, 6–3 in a marathon match lasting for two hours and ten minutes.

Proudest man at the club was veteran player Bob Price, who was thrilled after winning the mens’ Doubles C title with partner Martin Dawson.
