Barnet head coach Martin Allen says he is feeling the pressure after the Bees slumped into the League Two relegation zone following a seven-game losing streak.

A 4-1 home defeat to Exeter City on Saturday left Allen's side 23rd in the table, with their last win in all competitions coming on September 10 at Mansfield.

That said, the Bees have lost only four League Two games so far this season - as many as fifth-placed Portsmouth - and had they won their game in hand at Newport County, where they led 1-0 before it was called off last month, they would be in midtable.

But after Exeter enjoyed their biggest ever win over Barnet at The Hive on Saturday, Allen admitted to being

He said: "I am feeling the pressure. I don't like it or enjoy it, I want the team to be succesful and we have got the players to do that.

"I know how quickly things can change around. When we were up at the top, I never really looked at the table, and I won't do that now. I will work with the players, and it's a long season.

"There is a lack of confidence; that is apparent. We've had some good performances which have not been rewarded, and we have to keep working on the training pitch and looking after the players, and reassuring them.

The former Gillingham manager said he had taken solace in a letter received from a Barnet fan during the week, which had added some perspective to the club's current situation.

He said: "Some games haven't been a true reflection of the way it has gone, and if we had been consistently awful it would be a bigger problem, but we need to turn our draws into wins.

"I received a nice letter from a fan this week saying we are seven points from the play-offs and to keep the faith - and I certainly will."

The Bees travel to Wycombe on Saturday and Allen is looking forward to the chance to get back to winning ways, with the Bees likely to move ahead of their hosts if they can pick up three points.

"Wycombe is a bit of a local derby and we've always had very good games against them.

"It's a good stadium with a great pitch, and we'll hope to get a good result and make the boys confident."
