Tabard were given a lesson in attacking rugby as title-chasing H.A.C. thrashed them 59-13.

A lengthy injury list left Tabard facing a tough task from the get go against H.A.C., who are just two points off the summit of the London Two North West & SE Division table.

It took just four minutes for the home side to take the lead when some slack Tabard defending allowed them to drive a maul over.

Harry Gough’s penalty kept them in it in the early stages, but in truth Tabard never looked like troubling their high-flying opponents.

Repeated issues at line-outs undermined much of Tabards play and H.A.C. took advantage of the flaw to score under the posts.

A further try for the hosts looked to have killed off Tabard, but their best play of the day allowed Aled Davis to dart over and make it 21-13.

That was as good as it got for Tabard and two more tries left them on the wrong side of a 33-13 scoreline at the break.

The second period offered little respite for Tabard and they failed to trouble the scorers despite a spirited attacking effort.

In contrast, H.A.C. maintained their clinical edge to round of a dominant display with four unanswered second half tries.

Tabard’s schedule shows no sign of letting up as they face Belsize Park a week on Saturday.

Park occupy fourth position in the table and have enjoyed a solid campaign, losing only four games.
