Barnet will travel to newly-promoted Forest Green Rovers on the opening day of the Sky Bet League Two season.

Rossi Eames’ men will be the opening Football League opponents for Forest Green, who gained promotion to League Two for the first time in their history when they beat Tranmere Rovers in the National League play-off final in May.

The Bees, who finished in 15th place in League Two last term, will travel to Gloucestershire on Saturday, August 5 and they have fond memories of playing at the New Lawn, having recorded a 2-1 victory on their last visit in September 2014.

Barnet’s first home game of the season will be against Luton Town on Saturday, August 12 and the first month of the season is rounded off by a trip to Crewe Alexandra and a home game against Darren Sarll’s Stevenage.

The Bees will also take on Peterborough United at London Road in the first round of the Carabao Cup in August as well.

September looks a tough month on paper for the Bees, as a home game against Shaun Derry’s Cambridge United is sandwiched in between fixtures against recently-relegated Swindon Town, Exeter City and Carlisle United, who both finished in the play-offs last season.

Danny Cowley’s Lincoln City, who won the National League title last season, will take on the Bees at The Hive later on in September, while former FA Cup winners Coventry City will travel to Barnet on Saturday, October 7.

In November, the Bees have home matches against Colchester United and Grimsby Town, with trips to Port Vale and Newport County sandwiched in between.

Over the festive period, Eames’ men will travel to Cambridge United on Boxing Day, before a long trip to Exeter four days later and they then face Swindon Town at home on New Year’s Day.

After facing David Flitcroft’s Swindon, the Bees will kick off the New Year with a home game against Carlisle United on January 6, before a trip to Harry Kewell’s Crawley Town a week later.

February sees Notts County and Accrington Stanley visit The Hive, while in March the Bees face two tough away games against Coventry and Luton.

Over the Easter weekend, Barnet will take on Crewe at The Hive on Saturday, March 31, before travelling to Stevenage on Easter Monday.

In the last three fixtures of the season, Eames’ men will face Newport County at The Hive, before travelling to Morecambe a week later. They will round off the season with a home game against Chesterfield on Saturday, May 5, who return to League Two after two seasons away .

All fixtures are subject to change.
