Martin Allen has been appointed Barnet manager for a fifth time after the club parted company with Graham Westley.

The Bees are seven points adrift of safety in League Two and look destined for the drop with just eight games left to play this season and it was little surprise when Westley was sacked.

Allen will be charged with pulling off a great escape the keep Barnet up as he returns to the club he first managed in 2003.

The 52-year-old left the Hive in 2016 after being given permission to speak to National League side Eastleigh but lasted just 14 games in the job.

He enjoyed success with Barnet during the 2013/14 campaign and led the club to a third Conference title as they returned to the Football League.

A 15th place finish in League Two followed the next season before Allen made the decision to depart the club for Eastleigh.

A club statement also confirmed that head of technical Mark McGhee has also left the club with immediate effect.
