Two games in 24 hours proved too much for Barnet.
Following the 4-1 win at Harlow on Tuesday night, the below-strength Bees, with many first-team players on the bench, went down 3-1 at Northwood on Wednesday night.
The hosts stormed into a three-goal lead within 25 minutes, before Luke Medley pulled a goal back from the penalty spot just before the interval.
The only regular from last season in the starting line-up was Neal Bishop, who captained the side.
A number of trialists were given the nod ahead of the first-teamers who had taken to the field at Harlow.
However, manager Paul Fairclough did introduce some of his more established players after the break, but there were no further goals.
