A Mill Hill golfer is preparing to take on some of the sport's top names after qualifying for both the British and French Open.
Mill Hill Golf Club's Daniel Brooks, 22, will compete against the likes of Tiger Woods, Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter next month.
Brooks is also celebrating after winning the Sureshot GPS International Open in Devon - his first ever tournament win.
He said: "I was really pleased to have won. I was four shots ahead so I knew I was going to win. Somebody was going to have to make a charge from the chasing pack, but fortunately that didn't happen."
As well as overcoming the other competitors, Brooks also had to fight a flu bug, but he did not let his problems stand in the way of winning.
"I owe my victory to Beechams. They haven't offered me a sponsorship deal yet," he joked.
Brooks secured his win by shooting a seven under par 63 in the first round, following it up with a three under 63 in the second and a two over 72 in the final round.
And that success was followed by booking his place at this year's British Open, with some more superb golf during the regional qualifier at Old Fold Manor GC, Barnet, last week.
Potters Bar-based James Jankowski also made it to Turnberry.
Brooks has put his recent success down to hours spent on honing his putting.
He said: "Last season my putting let me down, so I decided to improve it and so far it's really helped. I've been coming close to winning a tournament, so I wasn't surprised I won (at Devon). It's been a great season for me so far."
He is now licking his lips at the prospect of facing some of golf's top names.
Brooks, who has been playing golf professionally for the last three years, said: "I've always really admired Tiger Woods. I just enjoy watching his game. I'm really looking forward to taking the top names on. Eventually I'd love to be at that level. That's my dream anyway."
The British Open Championship takes place from July 16-19.
