West Finchley Bowling Club is seeking new members of all ages.
And the club is offering free membership for a year.
Club president Dennis Nicholls said: “Come along and give it a try. If you’re new to the game we’ll also give you free coaching and help with equipment. The club has a reputation for a warm welcome, a friendly atmosphere and, most important, competitive bowls.”
The sport offers plenty of variety – you can play as an individual, as one of a pair, in a triple or even a foursome.
West Finchley BC is affiliated to the Finchley & District and Middlesex County Bowling Associations and has a fixture card of over 20 league, cup and friendly games.
Mr Nicholls added: “Bowls fulfils the needs of so many people because it is, above all, a simple game. People think it’s an old person’s game, but it’s not – I wish I’d started earlier. Like most sports, the sooner you start, the better you can get.”
West Finchley BC has one of the most beautiful greens in the area with four rinks, side-by-side.
