Barnet players will have to pull their socks up if they are to earn new contracts next season.
Asked whether he thought some of his side were getting a little complacent, manager Ian Hendon warned: "They shouldn't be. Most are out of contract in the summer."
He was not a happy man after the awful second-half performance against Accrington Stanley at the weekend, and will expect better when the Bees travel to bottom club Darlington this Saturday.
Though the Bees are still well clear of the relegation zone, Hendon said he just wanted to ensure his side were mathematically safe as soon as possible.
"The sooner we get there, the better. I've said before that we just want to win every game we play."
Rock-bottom Darlington, on paper, look easy meat, but they have beaten promotion-chasing Rotherham United twice in recent weeks.
And, after the weekend's Stanley nightmare, complacency should not be a problem this Saturday.
Hendon, speaking after the Accrington defeat, said: "The fans are probably as upset as I am, but we will put it right."
