Hendon hope to tame the Robins

8:10am Friday 3rd September 2010

Hendon host Carshalton Athletic this Saturday.

The Robins have rebuilt their squad for this season on and off the pitch and there are a number of players from Ashford Town (Middlesex) who have joined them, alongside former Ash-Trees boss Mark Butler.

Included are Byron Harrison (who actually joined them towards the end of last season) and former skipper and Hendon player Paul Johnson - both scored in their opening day victory.

Carshalton drew 1-1 at Canvey Island last Saturday. Last season, Casey Maclaren scored the only goal in a 1-0 home win and the match at Colston Avenue ended goalless, and the Robins had a player sent off in both games.

Then on Tuesday night, the Greens make their first trip to Sussex when they visit Horsham, kick-off 7.30. The Hornets are at the wrong end of the table, sitting in 19th place after collecting just one point from their three matches and they were beaten 3-0 at Wealdstone last Saturday. Hendon drew 1-1 at home with Horsham last season, Kevin Maclaren scoring, but were beaten 3-1 at Gorings Mead in a controversial match. Anthony Thomas scored Hendon's goal.
