Ski race brothers Daniel and Robert Poth ended the summer season in style with wins at the 2011 British Indoor Ski Racing Championships at Snozone, Castleford.

Daniel, 15, racing in the competitive Under-17 Junior 1 age category, won both runs to claim the gold trophy and place third overall.

His 14-year-old brother has raced consistently well over the whole season and produced a convincing win in the Under-15 category to claim the gold trophy – his time being a second-and-a-half faster than his nearest rival.

The boys, who attend Mount Grace School, Potters Bar, have recently been reselected for the Hertfordshire Talented Athlete Programme for 2011/12.

They wanted to thank the scheme for the support they have received, particularly coach Tony Sephton, who puts them through their paces with strength and conditioning sessions.

Robert has now been selected for the 2011/12 Great Britain Children’s Ski Racing team for the third time and will be competing at the International Ski Championships in the new year.

Daniel was selected for the 2011/12 England Alpine Ski Racing team and will be training and racing with the AKTIV Ski Racing Academy.
