Barnet boss Lawrie Sanchez hopes he can keep all the loan players currently with the Bees until the end of the season.

Sanchez has been very open about his thoughts on how the fortunes of Barnet have changed since Paul Downing, Hector and Jack Saville, who has now signed a permanent deal, arrived at the club in November.

However, Downing, Reading’s Jordan Obita and Arsenal’s Sead Hajrovic’s loan spells are all coming to an end during this month and Sanchez is hopes deals can be struck to extend their stay.

He said: “I would like to keep all the players here until the end of the season. I obviously want to get as many points on the board by the end of February when Paul Downing and Jordan Obita’s loans are up.

“We are hoping to speak to Sead, his agent and the club to extend his loan.

"We only have 20 players available to us and that includes young Mauro (Vilhete) and Elliot (Johnson), so when we have an injury, such as Michael Hector’s, it leaves us very thin on the bench.

“But we have an awful lot of football coming up in the next month so we would like to keep as many of them, if not all of them, here until the end of the season.”
