Hendon moved back into a play-off position in the Ryman Premier Division after they overcame promotion rivals Cray Wanderers 1-0.
Carl McCluskey’s second half strike proved the difference as the Greens climbed back up to fifth place.
Belal Aite-Ouakrim could have put Hendon in front before the break but he missed an open goal from six yards, while Rikki Banks helped keep the clean sheet, saving a Lewis Perkins penalty.
Cray had a goal disallowed late on but Gary McCann’s side were able to hang on and claim a precious three points.
The Greens return to action on Saturday when they face another of their play-off rivals in Lewes.
