Martin Allen is open to becoming Barnet’s full-time manager should the Bees offer him the job.
The former Notts County boss was brought back to Underhill for the final three games of the season with a clear brief to keep Barnet in League Two.
This was achieved with a 2-1 victory over Burton Albion at the weekend and Allen stated after the match that he was now unemployed.
However, he admits the job at Barnet interests him and believes the Bees could be aiming for a play-off position in the future.
"I believe it's possible to get Barnet back into the play-offs and challenging,” Allen told BBC Late Kick-off.
"Last year when I took over at Notts County they were doomed but after getting them safe we rebuilt the squad and the same can be done at Barnet. And that does interest me.
"I'd like to think there is room for a good challenge to get to League One."
