London Maccabi Vale Cricket Club unveil new net facility

London Maccabi Vale Cricket Club (LMVCC) have been able to take the next step forward as a club following the installation of a new net facility.

The Rowley Lane, Arkley-based side unveiled the nets last week in a moment which provided the culmination of three years of planning.

LMVCC are the lead Jewish Cricket Club and run two Sunday teams as well as five colts sides, ranging from Under-9s through to Under-17s.

The nets, which have been funded through sponsorship events, have been installed at the club’s London Maccabi Sports Ground home.

Dan Cohen, the club’s Communications Officer and newly appointed Head of Nets, said: “It is a massive step forward for us as a club.

“We are the first Jewish club to have outdoor nets so it is a massive step for our adult and colts sections.”

The First XI were able to celebrate in style at the weekend as they enjoyed a three-wicket success over top-of-the-table North London Muslims in Middlesex Sunday League Division One.

It was a defeat though for the Seconds as they lost out by 94 runs at home to Rajput Samaj in Division Three.
