Records smashed by Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers’ athlete and former Olympian Anthony Whiteman

Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers’ athlete and former Olympian Anthony Whiteman set a new V40 British, European and World Record at the Loughborough International.
Whiteman, who ran in the 1996 Olympics, competed in the 800m and came home in 1.48.28.
Another former GB International, Nick Nieland, was in action and his throw of 65.64m in the 800g Javelin, ranks him number one in the UK V40 this year.
Meanwhile, there was a new club record Nina Anderson (V40) at the Watford Open. Her time of 58.86 in the 400m eclipsed Sarah Heath’s 58.98 set ten years ago.
Other notable performances came from Shadine Duquemin (Under-20) who retained her number one ranking in the UK this year with a 49.58m throw in the 1kg Discus.
Zane Duquemin is second in the UK under-23 Discus after his impressive 61.33m throw.
Sebastian Rodger, fourth in the under-23 rankings, secured a 52.1 in the 400m Hurdles while Nathan Fox reached 15.67m in the triple jump – keeping his in fourth this year in the under-23 ranks.
In the BMC meeting in Milton Keynes, Jamie Dee (Under-15) is going from strength to strength, running a 1500m personal best of 4.08.33. It means he keeps his status as number one in the UK this year.
