Burke returns with gold from National Masters Championship

Finchley Racing Team’s Trevor Burke was in outstanding form at the National Masters Championship as he claimed three gold medals.

Burke began the event, held in the Newport velodrome, with a bronze in the 500m time trail.

However, that proved to be his lowest finish of the competition as he went on to take victory in all his other events.

He took gold in the scratch race before claimed first place in the individual pursuit – his main target for the Championships.

Finally, Burke won the point’s race riding off the front of the group and dominating throughout.

He picked up maximum points on most of the sprint laps, and wrapped up arguably his most impressive win.

These results will give his confidence a boost leading up to the World Masters in Manchester later this year.
