Wingate & Finchley's resurgence as one of the country's top development clubs continues, with the introduction of FLEX (Football Learning Experience) this autumn.

The club will take on 35 scholars who will train full-time, whilst continuing their formal education with the club's academic partner, Barnet College.

The students will represent the club in the Conference Youth Football League, and also participate in the FA Youth Cup and Ryman League Youth Cup.

The club will be holding a trial on Saturday. Any boys who would like to be considered should contact Richard Marchena on 07817 884572.

* Wingate & Finchley will be staging a charity fun day on Sunday, May 18, in conjunction with Arsenal FC.

The focus of the day will be a match against an Arsenal team of celebrities and ex-players.

There will also be plenty of activities for children, such as a penalty competition, face painting, freestyling footballers and a crossbar challenge.

An auction for high-value items, such as autographed shirts and other sporting memorabilia, will also take place.
