Mill Hill 0 - 5 Slough Like a top of the range Mercedes with no battery in the remote control, Mill Hill looked good but were lacking a key ingredient.

They dominated play during the first half, having clearly the better of territory and position and going ahead on the short corner count, but two breakaway goals left the home side facing an uphill battle in the second half.

Without David Evans and Ian Namey, Mill Hill's defence lost years of experience but Sven and Dan Stockhill proved able deputies.

Upfront two new faces, the product of the team's extensive youth training academy, rejuvenated the attack, adding a Berocca-like fizz which instilled new energy to the Michael Soloman.

Mill Hill constructed some good moves, but like a clumsy child with a pile of building blocks, they all too often undid their own work. Three times, Slough's pacy attack left Michael Ellis facing two or three attackers singlehandedly in the Mill Hill goal and his side paid the price.
