Mark Robson stressed Barnet will continue to play passing football despite struggling to create chances against Port Vale in their opening day 3-0 defeat.
The Bees rarely threatened the Vale goal throughout the contest which was settled with goals from Louis Dodds, Jennison Myrie-Williams and Tom Pope.
Robson acknowledged Barnet didn’t deserve anything from the match and focused on what needs to improve when the Bees host Bristol Rovers tomorrow.
He said: “I won’t change from the passing football, but we just need to be a little brighter on the ball. We also need to increase the tempo of the passing.
“The ball wasn’t moved quickly enough and it is something that we will look at and come Tuesday we will be ready for the game.”
There are still 11 days until the transfer window closes and Robson admits that he is still looking to strengthen his squad in “certain areas”.
But he added that he will not sign a player just to bolster the numbers – they must fit into the Bees style of play.
“We are still looking for the right ones to come along. We want to strengthen in certain areas if they are the right players. I don’t just want to get anyone in; they need to be the right ones for the way we want to play.”
