Potters Bar extend unbeaten run with Harpenden success in Home Counties Premier League Division One

Potters Bar made it three games unbeaten in Home Counties Premier League Division One on Saturday as they recorded a convincing five-wicket victory over visitors Harpenden.

The hosts elected to bowl and made early progress, reducing Harpenden to 35 for three and 53 for four before the batting side steadied the ship.

Ben Frazer (35) and Nick Lamb (25) top-scored for the visitors but they received little support elsewhere as a determined attack from Bar saw the innings brought to a close on 133 all out.

All four of the home bowlers got in on the act but it was Daniel Pascoe who was the pick of the quartet, returning five for 27.

Marc Milligan finished on three for 55 while George Scott and Tanweer Sikandar claimed a wicket apiece.

The loss of opener James Kettleborough for nought saw Bar make a nervous start to their reply but number two Antony Keely led them to victory with an unbeaten knock of 72.

Sikandar (30) and Lenny Cooper (24) made useful contributions but it was Keely’s score that proved the backbone of the innings as the hosts reached 139 for the loss of just four wickets.

Victory leaves Bar one place above the bottom two but only a point behind Henley and Harpenden immediately above them.

Saturday sees Bar visit fourth placed Tring Park.
