Nine Saracens players have been included in England's training squad for their Six Nations match with Wales and the England Saxons squad to face Ireland.

Mako Vunipola returns to the England set-up following injury, along with George Kruis, Billy Vunipola, Brad Barritt, Owen Farrell, Alex Goode and Richard Wigglesworth.

Meanwhile Maro Itoje, who captained England's Under-20s as they won the Junior World Championship last June, is included in the Saxons squad along with Chris Ashton.

England face Wales in their Six Nations opener on Friday, February 6, whilst England Saxons take on Ireland Wolfounds on Friday, January 30.

England head coach Stuart Lancaster said: “Looking at both squads it’s obvious there is a lot of depth and competition in every position, which is what we want.

"Many players are putting their hand up in the Aviva Premiership and Europe and they have a chance to impress in training as we build towards the games against Wales and the Wolfhounds.

“We have plenty of players to consider and with some players still being assessed from last weekend after suffering knocks we have kept our options open."
