Saracens prop James Johnston has joined London Wasps ahead of the 2015/16 season.

The Samoan international was not involved as much as he would have liked last term with Petrus Du Plessis, Juan Figallo and Kieran Longbottom all competing with him for the tighthead position.

The 29-year-old will link up with the Ricoh Arena side Wasps later this summer.

Director of rugby Mark McCall told the club website: “We would like to thank James for his contribution to the club over the last two seasons.

“He has contributed to a successful season for Saracens and he leaves with our best wishes for the future.”

Johnston made 51 appearances for the club after arriving from Harlequins in 2013 and contributed to first and fourth-place finishes in the Aviva Premiership.
