Saracens' Thretton Palamo will be loaned to Championship side London Welsh next season in a bid for first-team rugby.

The 26-year-old centre, who has been capped five times by the USA Eagles, will join up with the Exiles for the 2015/16 after the Rugby World Cup this autumn.

Palamo joined the Men in Black in 2014, initially arriving on a three-month trial, and went on to make his first-team bow against Ospreys in the LV=Cup.

London Welsh director of rugby Steve Lewis said: “We are delighted to have secured the services of Thretton for the forthcoming season.

“Thretton is an exciting talent and we are grateful to Saracens for releasing him to us. He is 6ft 3in and 116kg with pace and skill and we look forward to him joining up with us after his World Cup commitments.”

He previously played for Biarritz Olympique before returning to the USA at the end of the 2008/09 campaign to continue his studies.
