Saracens’ Chris Wyles will captain the USA Eagles this summer as they prepare for the 2015 Rugby World Cup with a four-match World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup campaign.

Wyles managed 13 tries in Saracens’ victorious 2014/15 Premiership campaign and will now attempt to replicate his club form on the international stage.

He is the most-capped fullback of all time for the USA Eagles and he has previously skippered the USA Eagles' sevens team.

Head coach Mike Tolkin said of the 31-year-old: “Chris has been one of the most respected and successful Eagles of all time and has been a selfless and proud Eagle for nearly a decade.

“His success as a professional player with Saracens, matched with the respect that he has garnered with his teammates throughout his career, makes him a natural choice as captain.”

Wyles is joined by Titi Lamositele, Hayden Smith and Thretton Palamo in the USA squad. Meanwhile, Seattle Saracens, one of Saracens’ global network partner club, also have three players in the Eagles’ squad: Olive Kilifi, Louis Stanfill and Shalom Suniula.

The Eagles will play fellow Pool B teams Samoa in San Jose and Japan in Sacramento on July 18 and July 24 respectively.
